Jeff Justice Williams, a dedicated community advocate and lifelong Heights resident, has officially announced his candidacy for the Ward D City Council seat. His entry into the race strengthens Council President Joyce Watterman’s “Joyce For JC” slate as she campaigns for mayor of Jersey City.

Williams brings years of hands-on experience supporting local families, small businesses, and youth initiatives. His campaign platform centers on public safety, affordable housing, and expanding opportunities for young people and working families.

“Our Heights community deserves a strong voice on the council—one that is rooted in loyalty, transparency, and real solutions,” Williams stated. “I look forward to working with Joyce Watterman to ensure every family in Ward D has the resources and representation they need to thrive. Together, we can build a Jersey City that works for everyone, not just a select few.”

Watterman praised Williams for his commitment to the community and emphasized his alignment with the broader goals of her campaign.

“Jeff understands the unique challenges facing Ward D, and he brings the energy and integrity we need on the City Council,” said Watterman. “Together, we will continue to move Jersey City forward, ensuring prosperity and opportunity for all.”

With deep roots in the Heights and a reputation for results-driven advocacy, Williams’ candidacy signals a strong push for inclusive growth and accountable leadership in Ward D.
